A home is more than just walls and a roof—it’s a foundation for stability, security, and a brighter
future. At Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, we believe everyone deserves a place to call home, and we work alongside families to make that dream a reality.
Our Habitat homes are designed to be simple, functional, and safe. They provide families with
everything they need—nothing extravagant, but everything essential. Each home follows a
carefully crafted floor plan that has been used with slight variations since 1992, ensuring
efficiency, durability, and affordability.
Thanks to a special partnership with Austin Peay State University’s GIS (Geographic
Information System) Center, the community can now step inside a Habitat home from anywhere.
A newly created virtual tour offers future homeowners, donors, and volunteers a chance to explore a completed Habitat house and see what makes these homes special. Whether viewing
from a web browser or using virtual reality, this tour brings the Habitat experience to life.
Each Habitat home is made possible through the generosity of our community. Funding comes
from a combination of grants, sponsors, individual donations, and proceeds from the Clarksville
ReStore. Homeowners purchase their homes through an affordable, zero-interest loan program,
making homeownership possible for those who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
“Thanks to Austin Peay’s GIS Center, prospective homeowners, donors, and our community can see the craftsmanship and care volunteers put into building these safe, stable homes,” says Kate Gauf, Operations Director and Interim Executive Director. “We believe it is important for people to see our mission in action—providing stability and safety—through a virtual walk-through of one of our homes.”
