Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County starts 2019 with the dedication of two new homes in Clarksville.
The local chapter of Habitat, which partners with low income families to provide affordable housing, currently has four projects under construction.
“We’re completing houses on Reynolds St. and Cedar St. and expect to dedicate them during the first quarter of the year,” said President Kevin Underwood. “We’re also building a house on Edmonson Ferry Rd. with Eddie Burchett as the General Contractor. We provide the materials and he’s handling the entire build process. Chris Blackwell is doing the same thing for another house and we look forward to announcing completion dates later this spring.”

The dedication of new Habitat homes comes after families have completed their work hours or sweat equity and complete the closing process.
Qualified homeowners must complete an application process and help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay the monthly mortgage, provided by Habitat at 0% interest.
It’s a core belief of Habitat for Humanity that decent shelter helps build strong, stable communities and strengthens families to live independently.
