March 21, 2012 – Clarksville, TN— “The homes we are dedicating this month went to families who lost their previous homes due to weather,” Jennifer Kready, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, said.
Habitat For Humanity is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry that selects Families based on their need for housing, their ability to repay a mortgage, and their willingness to work in partnership with Habitat.
The Rushing, Tucker, and Fuller Families received the keys to their new homes after a lengthy application process, board approval, 300-500 hours of sweat equity, plus homeowner and financial counseling.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was on hand to help dedicate the Rushing’s new home had these words to say, “On behalf of the City of Clarksville we glad to welcome you as new homeowners to the city.”
All the families were moved by the outpouring from the community and felt truly blessed to be the recipients of such a giving spirit.
“This is a new beginning for all of us and especially our kids,” Lynn Rushing said.
For over twenty years Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County has helped struggling families reach the dream of home ownership and have built more than 75 homes in the county.
