The Great American Cleanup is Saturday, April 27.
The campaign began as a litter cleanup initiative designed to improve communities by clearing trash from parks, streetscapes and public spaces.
To this day, community cleanups remain at the very heart of the campaign, and the results are remarkable. In 2018 alone, nearly 60 million pounds of litter and recyclables were collected by volunteers throughout the country.
Volunteers will meet at the Montgomery County Courthouse, One Millennium Plaza, at 8:00 a.m.
Gloves, vests and trash bags will be provided.
The Great American Clean Up Day is part of the Keep Tennessee Beautiful initiative.
